Seeing these photos seriously through me into some crazy feels. I love a good story y'all, and this sweet couple definitely has one to tell.
Meredith & Sam contacted me early this year to start planning their wedding at the Montage Palmetto Bluff. Meredith, her mom, and I seemed to instantly click and got to work right away. Meredith and Sam's goal was to have a killer party to celebrate with all of their friends in this beautiful setting. So we set them up with an amazing vendor team, and worked out all the details. The planning process went pretty smoothly, and well, here comes the plot twist.
The Monday before their wedding, all of Beaufort County was evacuated for Hurricane Dorian.
We were all floored and devastated. We spent the entire week leading up to the wedding coming up with a Plan B, C, D, etc, but nothing could be determined until we knew more. There was no way to know if the evacuation order would be lifted or if the Hurricane was going to make a direct hit on our little southern town.
After a week full of stress and constant communication, H-day came, and at the very last second, Hurricane Dorian hooked right and skirted by us causing only minimal damage to our area. We were truly lucky and blessed on more than one front. A lot luckier than our friends to the South and North who didn't fare as well.
With the good news of the light impact from the Hurricane, it was still a question of whether the evacuation order would be lifted in time for the wedding.
Friday came and THE EVACUATION WAS LIFTED JUST IN TIME. I swear it was like a Hallmark movie. Talk about a roller coaster of emotions! While I confirmed with each of their awesome vendor team and moved the rehearsal dinner to a different location, Sam, Meredith, & their parents jumped on the phone to all of their guests with the news that the party was on!
Their awesome vendor team was like no other in this situation. The Montage was able to get their facilities in better shape than I'd ever seen and prepped all day long to ensure they had exactly what they ordered. Jardiniere Events made a special trip well out of their way just to make sure they were able to get the most beautiful flowers for this sweet couple. Carrie Castano of Custom Confections made the cake during the hurricane for goodness sake. Amazing Event Rentals adjusted and readjusted all the rentals for the new rehearsal dinner location the day of. Each of the vendors went above and beyond to make this special weekend happen for this sweet couple.
Not only did we get the wedding plans back on track, but every one of their 180 guests made it to the wedding as planned. For those of you who don't understand how big this is, just know that having all of their guests still make it even though their was a looming hurricane in our area is INSANE. I mean, I think I happy cried for Sam & Meredith so much that weekend that my eyes stayed a consistent shade of red and puffy.
So even with the biggest plot twist in our wedding world, Meredith & Sam's wedding was truly something to behold.
I've never seen a group of that many guests so excited. And Meredith's mantra on her wedding day of "And there's no hurricane" will be one that I never forget.
